It is possible, using a macro, to back-convert a document created by later versions to Word 2010. Such a document can be saved and used in Word 2019 and as far as I know it will work but editing in Word 2019/365 may not be feasible. If you have Word 2010, you can add the WordArt using the Add-In and edit it the same as you could before.
It retains some of the function of the old in Word 2019l365 but it is hit or miss. These all were added to ribbon version documents using my Add-In for legacy WordArt. The texture and picture controls for shape will give background to the textbox that holds the WordArt. The text has lost its picture and neither picture nor texture are available. Here is the same thing not in compatibility mode. It is using the picture or texture foreground. docx format is from Word 2013 or later, you lose those controls, although not necessarily the WordArt already formatted.Īgain, this is in compatibility mode.
